Napa Valley trip

Well, once again I have been absent from blogging due to a trip out of town, but this time it was Mommy and Daddy only!  Will stayed with Emebet and had a wonderful time with her, while Stephen and I headed out for our first trip to wine country since Will was born.  We had a great time visiting with my aunt and uncle at their home in Pleasant Hill and then headed to Napa for a wonderful tour of some new wineries we had never visited, mostly Cab producers since we were primarily on the Silverado Trail.  We were visiting during one of the best times of the year as it is harvest time for the grapes, so we got to see the wineries really cranking during "crush" time.  It was fun see all that goes into actually getting the grapes from vine to wine and our favorite winery tour was Palmaz, a boutique Cab producer that is family owned and operated and our private tour was conducted by the son Christian Palmaz.  The other highlight was our hotel, Calistoga Ranch, up in the hills above Calistoga -- they catered to our every need and it was a very peaceful, beautiful pla.  It was a great getaway for us and very relaxing and rejuvenating!!
